Guy Piché starts Machinage Piché Inc. in Daveluyville, providing maintenance and repair services for neighbouring industries.
Machinage Piché moves to its present location and adds to its services the design and manufacturing of wood handling machinery.
Machinage Piché expands its plant by more than 5,000 sq. ft. to serve its growing clientele. The company, which employs about 25 people, computerizes its management, administration, and engineering departments.
A second expansion of the plant, also totaling 5000 sq. ft., is completed, still with the goal of providing better service to Machinage Piché inc.'s clientele.
Machinage Piché acquires the 36,000 sq. ft. plan no. 2, known as the “Domino”.
The company Ideal Cargo inc. is launched by Machinage Piché and then sold in the early 2000s.
A third expansion of nearly 12,500 sq. ft. is undertaken at Machinage Piché's Daveluyville plant. The Piché team consists of close to 50 people: welders, mechanics, technicians, draftsmen and engineers in the production, sales, engineering. and administration departments.
The industrial subcontracting division is launched. At its peak, this division would employ 40 factory workers.
Guy Piché's son, Jean-Benoît Piché, becomes president of the company and launches it on the North American market.
Jean-Benoît Piché officially takes over the company and continues to develop the North American market. Piché continues to grow and a team of twenty installers covers the Canadian and American territories.
Piché acquires more than 750,000 sq. ft. of land and a high-definition plasma table to respond more quickly to production needs.
The team now counts 100 employees!
Very involved in its community, the company finances the redevelopment of the Daveluyville baseball field.
The expansion of the offices, located in the main plant in Daveluyville, doubles the space.
Piché is a proud sponsor of the restructuring and improvement of the school park, which joins Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Elementary School and Sainte-Anne High School in Daveluyville.
The Daveluyville Sports Center is getting a makeover and becomes the Piché Sports Centre thanks to a major investment spread over the next 10 years.
And to thank its employees for Christmas 2019, Piché brews La Piché, a New England IPA beer, special Winter 2019 edition.
The facade of the second plant, known as the "Domino", is getting a makeover. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Piché acknowledges the exceptional contribution of its employees with La Piché 2, a limited-edition summer lager.
To meet the constantly growing demand, the organization makes an important economic decision: to close its industrial subcontracting department to invest 100% in its core field of activity, woodworking machinery.
After 38 years of operation, Piché boasts a team of 140 passionate and dedicated employees, who work in more than 80,000 square feet to serve an international clientele. The company is launching its new website to showcase its employees and its unique expertise.
Major investment in plan 2. Investments amounting to more than $1.2 million have been made, allowing Piché to double the mechanical space from 7,000 square feet to 13,000 square feet in addition to installing 6 new lifting to improve the safety and productivity of operations.
In addition, in order to better serve its customers, the interior storage space has also more than doubled, going from 9,000 square feet to more than 16,000 square feet.
